Earth's Resource Depletion

Earth's Resource Depletion

By: Smaran Thota

Our environment plays an important role in our world by providing air, food, water, etc. This helps us and all animals maintain our whole life-support system. However, there has been a major issue that has been drastically increasing which is resource depletion. This problem occurs when renewable and non-renewable resources become a short supply because it has been consumed way faster than being created. An example that has been an aspect of this problem is deforestation which cut down trees for construction and results in harming the environment. Humans have been depleting resources because of the increasing population which has destroyed animal habitats, released emissions in our atmosphere, polluted the oceans, and has overall affected our environment in many ways.

The human population has been drastically increasing which was a big resource depletion. About 200 years ago, each human had the equivalent 2400 of land and freshwater resources; however, today, each human now has the equivalent 300 of land and freshwater resources. This is a huge reduction in resources because of our population which is 7.7 billion people and is way more than the 1 billion people 200 years ago.

Natural resources are not the only thing that has been depleting, it is also economic resources that have been reducing. The economic development of a nation contributes major to natural resources. The depletion of resources can cause major economic issues for the nation. These resources are very vital to human and the environment if we keep reducing our sources, then there won't be anything left and our Earth will have to suffer.

Resource Depletion has been an issue for many years which started when the Industrial Revolution began. It is a shortage of our resources which has been decreasing faster than being created which is happening by our human population. Our environment helps maintain our vital lives, as well as animal ecosystems and these resources have helped us create nations all over the world. If we can learn how to maintain our resources, then we would have a mass amount for many years to survive just like having 2400 of land and freshwater resources, two-hundred years ago. Being sufficient with these resources will help our environment and our Earth overall be healthy and a safe atmosphere to live in.

Resource depletion can become a large issue if we do not watch how much we are taking from the environment. A big example of this is fossil fuels. It takes millions of years for fossil fuels to form, and since we are using them at a faster pace, they will not be restored in time for use. We rely on fossil fuels for many thing, so this could be a big problem. We can fix this problem by regulating how much resources we are allowed to use. Governments should regulate big companies and people who deplete resources by placing restrictions on them and giving fines if they exceed the restrictions. As individuals, we can help too. We can consume less water by reducing our showers and use less fossil fuels by using our cars less.

I have seen many heavy-duty construction machines and vehicles on and off roads. Some ways we can help resolve this issue is by taking initiative. Initiative towards the use cleaner energy and the process of recycling. Through these actions we will have reduced the consumption of our earth’s resources significantly. All in all the greatest solution is to educate people about these problems and show them what steps they can take to play their part in helping the world. For me I will learn more about our environment and make changes that are in my ability for a greener world.

This will become a huge problem in the near future, especially to the future generations. We can already see that our water supply is being used faster than it can replenish. We need to make others aware of the consequences of this problem. Not enough people, especially in developed countries, realize the impact of the amount of waste they are creating. Government action can help as well. Some states have already taken initiatives to fix this, such as the state of California. California requires all businesses and establishments to recycle, and this tremendously helps with resource depletion.

I have seen heavy-duty construction machines on the road, as well as off roads. A solution to fix this issue, would be for the government to regulate companies and individuals who deplete resources by placing restrictions and fines. To help the environment, I can drive less, use less plastic products, and inform people.

Yes I see heavy duty construction every day because I live next to a construction site.To fix this solution is to take initiative to use cleaner energy and use less heavy machines we also need the government to regulate the construction site.To help the environment we as a society need to use less transportation such as cars and use less emitting sources such as trains and rail ways.

Resource depletion will only continue to worsen if the entire world doesn’t take concrete action to limit their resource-use. Fortunately, many countries’ population growth will level off in the coming years. However, there are still developing countries that are rapidly growing. Therefore, resources must be sufficient enough to help these countries. Developed Countries must help developing countries with their economic growth while at the same time efficiently using resources.

The research in unequal distribution can fairly corroborate with the research going into resource depletion. It's a fact, the human population is growing at an unprecedented rate in which it is hard to believe that there is even the possibility of feeding the almost 9 billion of us. However, the truth still stands that everyone around the globe can be met with sufficient resources if it weren't for one detrumental issue, unequal distribution. The rich will hoard and the poor will suffer. This has been an obvious ongoing issue that must be met with enforcement. If we want to attack the problem of poor populations depletion of resources, we must look to those in power to re establish a sense of equilibrium.

If we don't continue to observe the rate we remove resources from the environment to how fast they regenerate, resource depletion will become a serious issue among the coming generations. Unequal distribution is one example of resource depletion. To suffice a growing human population and economy, we are using up the earth's resources faster than they will replenish. Fossil Fuels are a prime example of depletion. Vehicle usage grows as does the consumption of fossil fuels. However these take large amounts of time to regenerate, and humans only exacerbate the issue.

In the current state of the world there is no way that development is going to stop or even slow down, so we must switch our focus to developing smarter. Using less emitting construction equipment would go along way toward lessening the environmental impact of development. Also, if we develop using smart growth principals the resources we use in the development would be more justified, as it would be beneficial towards the environment in the future.

We need to regulate the amount of resources that we take from the earth such as fossil fuels and timber. Many countries are developing at a extremely fast rate which can result in larger losses of resources. I was surprised at the large number of resources that human have used over the past 200 years. These facts could be used to show the world that we can slow down development in order to let the earth catch up.

Resource depletion is such an important issue that needs to be solved. Humans are going to kill the planet if we continue to take away from the Earth at this rate. We will always take from the planet, but we must learn how to give back in order to sustain all of the living beings in the environment. People need to be educated on the issue in order for us to even start to talk about a solution. Once this is done, then finding different ways to use what we have in a more efficient manner is the first step. For example, we can use smart growth principles which would lower the consumption of resources while helping the environment.

Yes, I have seen those heavy duty construction machines before. I see them all the time on the road and off the road. I can use less water, breathe less air, and use less resources to help the earth. This is because if resources are depleted, it is bad for the earth. Resource depletion is very bad and something has to be done to stop it.

Yes, there is lots of construction going on around Flower Mound, so I see those heavy-duty construction machines on the road all the time. Some solutions to fixing this issue would be to have the government regulate where, and how many resources companies can use. Something that I can do would be to drive less often, and to carpool when I can. This will help bring down my use of fossil fuels.

This is yet another example of the Tragedy of Commons and the consequences of it. Development for humans comes at a cost for the environment, so we need to approach it in a sustainable manner. As developing countries continue their development, more developed nations should enforce a more sustainable approach.

Yes, i have seen many of the heavy duty construction machines on the road. Some solutions is to move more towards a sustainable viewpoint and to try to get people to use less resources on a day to day. I can inform others about this issue and try to use the least amount of energy i can to preserve fossil fuels.

Resource depletion is a huge problem that we need to fix. The resources that we take from the environment are greater than what we give back, or in other words, the output is greater than the input. We need to regulate the number of resources that we use as efficiently as possible to be sustainable for future generations.

To help our environment, we could spread more awareness of the rate at which humans are exhausting these natural resources. We could also make a councilors effort to use more eco friendly supplies and sources that don’t exhaust our environment as quickly.

I have seen heavy-duty construction machines on the road, as well as off roads, however frankly i do not understand how this question relates to the topic and gets to the point of this problem but I guess that just happens sometimes. A solution to fix this issue, would be for the government to regulate companies and individuals who deplete resources by placing restrictions and fines. To help the environment, I can drive less, use less plastic products, and educate people on how the earth is changing.

One way we can help resource depletion is by being more aware of our own usage. For example, we can avoid wasting as much food as possible. In the US, we have a culture where food is so abundant, we waste food without thinking. We can be more aware of this and try to reduce our food waste. Additionally, we can reduce our energy usage. If enough people reduce their resource usage, we can take the first step to solving the resource depletion problem.
